Prefunding involves depositing funds with TransFi in advance to enable real-time processing of transactions, such as buying and selling digital assets or making payouts. These funds act as a reserve, ensuring streamlined operations.

Transfers can be near-instant or processed in batches, depending on how your account is set up. For real-time asset transactions, the amount is initiated immediately to the recipient and then processed in line with the bank’s settlement cycle. For batched transactions, fiat or coins are grouped and processed together after a pre-agreed cut-off time, and then settled according to the bank’s standard processing timelines.

As an admin, you can invite teammates and assign them specific roles such as Maker and Approver for direct and batch transfers. Makers initiate transfers, which then appear on the 'Approve' screen for Approvers to review and either approve or reject. This system distributes responsibilities and enhances accountability in managing settlements.

You can track status of your payments by visiting the Transactions screen of your Ramp platform. For any prefunding or asset transaction, there are dedicated entries to help you reconcile and track with clarity. Transfers to incorrect account details fail instantly once initiated. For certain banks, it may take up to 24 hours to receive a confirmation of failure.

Webhooks allow you to automatically receive timely and accurate updates on the status of payments. By configuring a webhook, you can monitor key events—such as changes in payment status—triggered by your requests and processed either in real-time or with a delay. While most updates are provided promptly, certain payment methods may require additional time for confirmation. You will receive a notification from TransFi as soon as the payment status is confirmed by the bank.
